Cosira's Facilities

Cosira Vulcan, the Group’s flagship manufacturing investment at Vulcania outside Johannesburg, has an initial  a nameplate capacity of 4500 tonnes. The facility covers an area of 36000 square meters undercover on 150 000 square meters of ground, to accommodate further expansion.

What makes Cosira Vulcan so exceptional, is the significant investment in its modern technology and equipment, which includes fully automated robotic computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines, including the latest saws, lathes, beam line machines and automatic drills.

A significant contributor to the state-of-the-art Vulcan facility is Magellan, Cosira’s enterprise logistics system. Already operational on all of Cosira’s projects, Magellan allows the group to plan ahead, to keep track of all parts throughout the production and plant process, and to be proactive in correcting any discrepancies well ahead of time. Magellan breaks the traditional four-wall barrier of the business, allowing complete visibility, while integrating seamlessly with existing systems.

Cosira Communications currently produces in the region of 1 000 tonnes per month. Cosira Piping offers piping manufacturing services to the group.
