Cosira Communications (Pty) Ltd is a subsidiary of the Cosira Group. The business is focused on the manufacturing of steel towers for both the telecommunication and power transmission sectors. Cosira Communications aims to be the market leader in the supply of telecommunication & transmission towers into Africa, targeting leading operators and energy providers throughout the continent as well as assisting with South Africa's GSM power expansion plans. The business is well-positioned in this field, thanks to being a part of the Cosira Group, drawing from its steel fabrication expertise.
Cosira Communications offers steel lattice towers for applications within the telecommunication, GSM, & Transmission Towers markets. The current target customer base for telecommunication towers are African countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia, Zimbabwe, DRC, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria and Chad.
In the short term, the power transmission towers will be constructed in South Africa, owing to that country's power expansion plans, including the new coal-fired power and nuclear power stations. However, the Cosira Group anticipates a surge in power supply industries across Africa which demand transmission towers such as those Cosira Communications supplies.
Cosira Communications offers turnkey solutions for the design, detailing, supply and corrosion protection of a range of telecommunication and transmission towers designed to the specifications of the end user, and offers the added advantage of flexible custom-designed solutions for specific applications or requirements. The structures are designed to be lightweight and efficient, while handling the required loading. All detailing is done using a detailing software package, Tekla Structures, ensuring optimum accuracy. Cosira Communications includes foundation design as part of its service offering, so the towers are correctly designed to suit the soil conditions in their specific locations.
