Dynamic, Experiential Display of Vital Dust and Fines Vacuum Recovery

Interactive display of safe, secure and cost-effective dust and fines vacuum recovery at Electra Mining 2008

14 August 2008

Cosira Industrial Mining Solutions (IMS), a specialist division of the Cosira Group, which focuses on the supply of products and engineering technologies for bulk materials handling, processing equipment and industrial vacuum solutions, will be one of Electra Mining 2008’s participants.

Interactive display

This year, the division will be making its presence felt at the Electra Mining exhibition in Johannesburg, in a practical and experiential manner. This is according to Francis Braz, Director of Cosira IMS.

Braz says: “We have doubled our stand size to accommodate our new vacuum technology display, and are very pleased with the result. It will not only demonstrate what the vacuum systems technology can do, but will also allow stand visitors to experience it for themselves.”

Vital vacuum systems

He notes: “Effective industrial cleaning and vacuum solutions are a vital step in valuable mining materials reclamation. As well as recovering fines for re-processing, they protect the health and wellness of workers in mining and processing plants too.”

Locally, Cosira IMS manufactures tailor-made vacuum solutions for the South African market, using some of the world's leading brands and technology in this field. The technology is highly suitable for both local and international applications, in both the mining and industrial sectors.

The vacuum systems can either be stationary or mobile, and are very effective at cleaning up spillages, or recovering valuable materials in mines and industrial plants.

“Fixed, central vacuum system installations reduce labour costs and make for a faster, more efficient operation, as well as a cleaner plant and a healthier working environment,” says David de Oliveira, Sales Engineer of Cosira IMS.

He continues: “Cosira IMS also supplies road sweepers and vacuum trucks, with applications varying from street washing and sewer cleaning, to hazardous material transport, sludge and liquid waste removal and high-pressure cleaning.”

Bulk dry loaders for ports and terminals

State-of-the-art Cosira IMS continuous ship loaders and un-loaders are used for dry loading and unloading in ports, or from on-board floating terminals. These un-loaders are ideal for the bulk movement of coal, cement, fertilisers, minerals, grain, agribulk, alumina and other dry commodities.

New Cosira Power Equipment division

Recently, Cosira IMS expanded into the energy market and has added a power equipment division to its operations.

“Cosira Power Equipment will specialise not only in diesel-driven power generating units, but also in gas-fuelled installations. It is to explore the alternate energy sector as well, and will be involved in clean and renewable-energy projects,” Braz states.

One point of contact

“At Electra Mining, our customers will once again see the quality, service and convenience offered by the complete turnkey solutions of the Cosira Group. Despite the breadth of our expertise, our ‘Cosira One’ ethos ensures that each customer has a single point of contact, which accesses not only our IMS division, but the Cosira Group’s entire range of services,” concludes Braz.
