Hencon Investments acquires Cosira Industrial and Mining Solutions (IMS)
26 October 2009
The directors of Cosira International are pleased to announce the recently-concluded sale of Cosira Industrial and Mining Solutions (Pty) Ltd (‘Cosira-IMS’) to Hencon Investments (Pty) Ltd for an undisclosed amount.
This is according to John da Silva, Chief Executive Officer of the Cosira Group.
Hencon Investments is part of the Hencon Group, an international supplier of tailor-made mobile vehicles to the aluminum industry and mining sectors, with 36 years of experience and representation in almost all major raw material producing countries.
Cosira Industrial and Mining Solutions (IMS) was a specialist division of the Cosira Group that focuses on the supply of products and engineering technologies for bulk materials handling, processing equipment and industrial vacuum solutions. Effective industrial cleaning and vacuum solutions are key to valuable mining materials reclamation, in the form of fines as well as protecting the health and wellness of workers in mining and processing plants.
Cosira IMS not only imports and supplies some of the world's leading brands and technology in this field, the division also manufactures tailor-made vacuum solutions for the South African context and the local applications of customers. This provides customers with solutions to their specific needs, but also makes the acquaintance and provision of spares all part of their offering.
Cosira IMS, which will now operate under the Hencon brand and be known as Hencon Vacuum Technologies (Pty) Ltd, will continue to service its existing and new clients under the leadership of Janusz Harat, Technical Manager, and David de Oliveira, General Manager.
“We are very happy with the sale of IMS to Hencon. It is important to the Cosira Group that we maintain our entrepreneurial spirit and way of doing business, and we believe that this was the right decision going forward for Cosira IMS,” says da Silva:
“We are delighted with the acquisition of Cosira IMS and adding this important division to the Hencon fold,” adds Dirk Kuiken, CEO of the Hencon Group,
“We look forward to continuing to uphold the sound reputation that IMS has gained in the past when part of the Cosira Group, and to further developing this division in the future,”concludes de Oliveira, general manager of Hencon Vacuum Technologies.
