• Cosira was awarded the Lion Award for Safety Hours for work completed on site at the SAPREF Durban facility.
• 100 000 LTI free hours were achieved on site at Xstrata's Bokomoso Project – Wonderkop.
• FNB reached 100 000 lost time injury free hours.
• Two Rivers Project reached 150 000 lost time injury free hours.
• Cosira achieved 200 000 LTI free hours on the site of the Potgietersrust Platinums mine where Cosira Tubular erected a concentrator.
• At the Sishen site in the Northern Cape, Cosira achieved 700 000 LTI free hours and 200 000 LTI free hours on erection of the crushers and stockyard conveyors respectively.
• Nkomati reached 250 000 lost time injury free hours.
• ISO Mills reached 350 000 lost time injury free hours.
• RBCT reached 380 000 lost time injury free hours.
• Ngezi reached 880 000 lost time injury free hours.

Absolute safety requires absolute commitment, "ZERO TOLERANCE", and with that in mind, the Cosira Group has actively put strategies in place to ensure that, throughout the company, our culture embraces an awareness of the safety for our staff; as well as maintaining a "zero harm" policy towards the environment at all times which is also absolutely paramount.
